If winter adventure is what your family is in search of there are many options. Pay a visit to Okoboji Boat Works to ice fish or ice skate on West Lake Okoboji. Then head to the Nature Center for a snowshoe hike (free snowshoes available on weekdays). If you would rather be indoors head over to Boji Bay Ice Arena for public skating for a minimal fee on Friday and Saturday nights. If the snowfall amount has been just right go south of Milford to Horseshoe Bend for some snow tubing with a tow rope to bring you back to the top and a warming house with a fire, s’mores and hot chocolate.

If you are looking for a great neighborhood bar and grill with food to please even your pickiest eater, check out Tweeter’s in Okoboji (they serve a free ice cream sundae with every kid’s meal!), Remington’s in Spirit Lake, or The Hutt in Arnolds Park. Water’s Edge Grille at Bridges Bay offers everything from steak and seafood fine dinning to a large variety of flat bread pizzas.
