Man vs. Wild??
Whether you’re you looking for a rugged night of camping or a hotel/resort close to the action there are many great lodging options for the “guys.” Arrowwood and AmericInn are located on Brooks Golf Course and are great options if you are looking to golf and be centrally located. If you want to be near the nightlife, check out West Oaks. If you are looking for a quieter stay both on and off the water, Crescent Beach, The Northland Inn, or Village West on the west side of West Lake Okoboji may suit your group well.
ACTIVE
There are so many things to keep you busy the hardest part will be deciding what to do! You could bring bikes and enjoy a whole day riding 60 plus miles of paved trails which wind throughout the Iowa Great Lakes. When you get hungry, or more than likely, thirsty, you can take a pit stop at Pub 19 Bar and Grill for amazing wood-fired pizza!
The group may even want to try their hand at disc golf, an 18-hole course located in Kenue Park. One of the most popular new activities this year in the Iowa Great Lakes is pickle-ball. Try out the brand new courts at Speier Park in Okoboji or in Spirit Lake by the high school.
You can also try your hand at axe throwing! Grab the guys and check out the Throwing Post in downtown Arnolds Park. Reservations are recommended.

GOLF
Just like no girls weekend is complete without shopping, no guys weekend would be complete without golf! In Okoboji you could play a different championship course every day of your stay! Serving the public since 1932, Brooks Golf Club is a beautifully maintained course with 27 holes, through parkland, prairie, and wetlands. With lush green rolling hills and an abundance of stately trees. Emerald Hills will ensure golfers of all skill levels a fun challenge at affordable rates. The staff will make you feel like family and it the course is in pristine shape. Okoboji View Golf Course on the west side of the lake, combines a great golf experience with an awesome dinning experience at Pub 19 Bar and Grill. Okoboji View has recently undergone a major renovation, with 12 acres of wetlands and reformatted holes. Finally, just a few miles south of Okoboji, Spencer Golf and Country Club, is a well-manicured course with four sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. Fall is a beautiful time to enjoy each of these courses!
Hunting, Fishing, and Loving Every Day
Okoboji and the surrounding area is an angler and hunting paradise in the fall! Whether you are throwing a line in from the shore, a dock, or a boat we “almost” guarantee you will catch something to fuel your late night fish-telling stories. Stop by Oak Hill Outdoor, Stan’s Bait and Tackle, ‘Oh Shucks Bait and Tackle or Kabele’s Trading Post to get your fishing license, gear and ask where the fish are biting! With a wide variety of public and private land to hunt, Okoboji is a hunter’s paradise. Okoboji boasts over 20,000 acres of publicly managed land that is ideal for hunting. According to the DNR in Dickinson County the pheasant population is expected to be the second highest population in the last ten years. Eat / drink
Of course you will need to eat and drink while in Okoboji, it’s up to you to decide in which order you will do this! If the drinking part comes first you will probably want take a brewery tour and grab a cold one at West O or Okoboji Brewing Company. Maybe you want one stop dinner and drinks on the deck check out The Okoboji Store, Waterfront Grille, or Los Pueblos for a Mexican feast. However, if only a burger or steak will satisfy swing by Tweeter’s for lunch or dinner and catch the game on one of their 10+ TV’s. For other casual dinning while watching your favorite college or pro team play try The Hutt, The Gardens ,The Ritz, Captain’s Getaway or Nautical. The The Outrigger or Yesterday’s are also great stops for dinner. Looking for a hearty breakfast to start the day off: The Hutt Bar and Grill or O’Farrell Sisters will get your day started off right! Many of the local eateries and bars have entertainment all week long. Check the events calendar for options.
BOAT
No trip to Okoboji is complete without a day on the lake and there could not be a more beautiful and calm time to get out there! Bring your boat or call Okoboji Boat Works or Mau Marine and ask about fall boat rentals. While out on the water be sure to grab lunch or a drink at The Okoboji Store, The Ritz, or The Garden’s.
MUST VISIT
Okoboji Classic Cars: The Ultimate Man Cave is home to a state-of-art restoration center that restores cars from around the country AND a museum of 80 plus classic cars. Step into the museum and you will be transported back to the 1960’s of downtown Spencer and Arnolds Park. Floor to ceiling murals create the backdrop to display classic cars, most for sale!
Polaris Indian Motorcycle Experience Center in Spirit Lake is another must stop. The center showcases current and historic Indian motorcycles, displays vintage artifacts and memorabilia, and offers visitors the opportunity to purchase exclusive factory merchandise. Guests are also able to view a short video tour of the manufacturing facility during times when guided tours are unavailable. Guests are welcome to visit the Indian Motorcycle Experience Center anytime Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am and 3pm with the exception of holidays.
