Paper Mache Animals

In this hands-on workshop, teen artists will design and build their own paper mache animals from jungle creatures and ocean friends to imaginary beasts straight from their imagination. Starting with a simple armature (a base shape made from recycled materials), children will learn how to build a structure for the animal followed by layers of paper mâché. Once dry, the animals will be brought to life with detailed faces and colored bodies. Register by 1/6.

Painting Water

Discover how to capture the beauty and movement of water ripples using the expressive qualities of watercolor and gouache paint! In this workshop, teens will explore how light, color, and reflection create the mesmerizing patterns seen on water’s surface.  Register by 1/28.

Mugs, Cups, & Containers!

In this three-session class, students will learn the basics of wheel throwing and how to create functional ceramic forms with handles, such as mugs, cups, or small containers with handles. Each session builds on the last, guiding students from centering clay to glazing their finished pieces. Pieces will be left to dry, bisque fired, and finished with a clear glaze firing. Pieces will be ready for pickup in approximately 2.5 weeks after the class. LIMITED SEATS! Register by 2/25.

CD Intaglio Printmaking

In this innovative workshop, teens will explore the art of intaglio printmaking using recycled CD’s as printing plates! Students will experiment with carving and etching designs into the surface of the CDs, then use ink and hand-burnishing techniques to transfer their images onto paper.  Register by 3/25.
