JANUARY 8 – FEBRUARY: WHEEL THROWING
6 WEEK CLASS | Members $72 & Non-Members: $96
Students will spend time on the pottery wheel learning how to center the clay, pull, and form various pottery pieces. During this course we will also discuss trimming, pulling handles for mugs, carving techniques, along with glazing and firing of pieces.
FEBRUARY 19 & 26 | LINOLEUM CARVED WINTER LANDSCAPE
In this two session course participants will learn the block reduction method of printmaking. Students will make multiple prints of a snowy winter scene printing on toned paper.
MARCH 4 & 11 | MINIMALIST CLAY PORTRAIT SCULPTURES
Create a human bust out of clay in a minimalist style. Sculptures will be approximately 12″ in height and students will apply unique glaze effects to their work.
MARCH 18 & 25 | METALSMITHING: CUFF BRACELETS
Learn traditional metal tool techniques and learn to saw, pierce, file, hammer texture, and add patinas while creating your own metal cuff bracelet to wear or gift!
APRIL 1 & 8 | GOTHIC WINDOW ARCHITECTURE DRAWING
Learn about gothic style (1120-1500a.d.) as well as characteristics of the time frame as you explore techniques of drawing, use a variety of drawing pencils, blending stumps, and other drawing tools to create beautiful windows drawn in the style of gothic architecture.
APRIL 15 & 22 | FABRIC BATIKS
Explore the process of resist painting on fabric in this two session course. Students will create a design, learn a variety of options for resist, and dye their fabrics to create a beautiful tapestry.
