The Iowa Rock ’n Roll Music Association announces the First Annual Lake Okoboji Rock Festival, an exciting 8-artist music festival.
The Lake Okoboji Rock Festival will feature many of Iowa’s and the region’s most innovative and talented independent rock artists. Wrist band orders are available at iowarocknroll.com/events and are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. A wristband will cover all shows, all day.
Three of the artists record regularly and have received national notoriety. Halfloves (Iowa City) has been featured on Audiotree.tv and is called “The best currently active rock band in Iowa” (Iowa Informer). Halfloves combines dreamy indie-pop textures, sincere lyrics, and impactful, energized vocals to create their unique, upbeat sound. Elizabeth Moen (Iowa City) has also been featured on Audiotree. With her massive vocals and raw bluesy guitar, she “showcases both strength and vulnerability, reminding us that these traits often go hand and hand” (NPR Music). Jocelyn, an Omaha native and BMG recording artist, made her mark in pop music, touring with Hootie & the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies. She has a powerful stage presence and voice, and her rhythmic guitar adds a unique feel to her performances.
Also featured at the festival are Surf Zombies (Cedar Rapids), Been There Done That (Quad Cities), Ruralists (Sioux Center), La Raza (Milford), More or Less (Minneapolis), and Triple Shot (Milford).
