4th of July Fireworks

There’s something special about celebrating our Nation’s Independence Day in Okoboji, Iowa with a beautiful fireworks display over West Lake Okoboji.  Families have gathered together for this tradition in Okoboji for generations to watch the fireworks from a boat or along multiple vantage points from the shoreline, including from Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park.  They tune into KUOO Campus Radio FM103.9 for patriotic music that is choreographed to the fireworks display, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to the annual 4^th of July Fireworks celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

For over 40 years, with additional help from many generous business owners and private citizens, the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce has funded and produced the annual 4th of July Fireworks celebration over West Lake Okoboji and filled our Okoboji sky with color and excitement. This tradition draws thousands of spectators to our beautiful lakes area to celebrate our nation’s birthday and honor the patriotism of those who made our independence possible.

We encourage families to come out and spend a day at Arnold’s Park Amusement Park and then pop up a lawn chair or spread out a blanket on the lawn at Preservation Plaza and get ready to enjoy this truly spectacular fireworks display. Spending your day on the water, that’s okay…arrive by boat for the most up-close and personal view.
