Yes it's true we have a love - hate relationship with August! We love it because there are so many great summer days, nights, and events to enjoy AND we hate it because it's the last full month of Summer! So let's all try to put that bad news out of our minds and revel in the fact that we have a FULL month of FUN in the Sun to be had in Okoboji.
If you are an Okoboji Summer Regular then you have heard of or seen a Marilyn Maye performance. Maye is turning 90 years old and is celebrating with two Okoboji performances August 14th and 15th at The Pearson Lakes Art Center. The award-winning Maye appeared 76 times on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. After one of her appearances on The Tonight Show, Johnny Carson remarked, “And that, young singers, is the way it’s done.” You will NOT want to miss this iconic grammy winning singers stop in Okoboji!
