Established in 1968 by Ed & Alice Kabele, located in the heart of the Iowa Great Lakes, surrounded by crystal clear fishing waters, our area is one of the most sought after tourist attractions. Kabele’s ownership was taken over by Thane Johnson in April 2004 with Tanya Petersen joining the partnership in 2010. Kabele’s Trading Post has transformed from a basic bait/tackle shop to a fisherman’s destination. Our “mom & pop” shop is an independently owned, stand alone retailer with fishing expertise of the Iowa Great Lakes, & excellent customer service. We are always up to date on fishing trends & latest products on the market. Located across the street from beautiful East Lake Okoboji, and within a short distance drives to both West Lake Okoboji, & Big Spirit Lake.
