Macroinvertebrates of the Little Sioux

On Wednesday, July 22, Naturalist Ashley Tieden will host a program at the Horseshoe Bend River

Access (south side) focusing on the Little Sioux River’s aquatic ecosystem. Participants will discover how

aquatic macroinvertebrates serve as indicators of water quality and play an essential role in the river’s

food web while gaining a closer look at the organisms that call the river home.

The DCCB encourages all ages with an interest in nature to register and attend one or both programs

and experience some of the area’s most unique natural resources.
