The Fortieth Annual University of Okoboji Classic Invitational Soccer Tournament will be held on June 10 & 11, 2017 in Milford, Iowa. This is a FAMILY-ORIENTEDRECREATIONAL TOURNAMENT, designed to promote the Iowa Great Lakes area and your soccer club. NO SELECT TEAMS.
This notice is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute an invitation to the tournament. If your team is interested in participating in this tournament, you must register by Saturday, April 15th. Invitations will be issued after April 15th. No verbal responses will be accepted! If interested, please respond by registering your team on the Registration page on www.bojisoccer.com. All registrations will be handled via this website, starting March 15th.
There are four age groups participating in the tournament, henceforth called divisions. There may be more than one bracket of games in each age division. The divisions are:
Under 12 Girls, Under 12 Boys
Under 14 Girls, Under 14 Boys
USYSA age limitations will apply. No player born prior to August 1, 2002, will be a member of a U14 team. However, some leagues in the Omaha area have allowed 8th graders who have reached the age of 15 before August 1, 2017 to play with their teammates. Technically modified, this is a U15 division. No more than four players per team may fall in this category and no player may have attended 9th grade during the 2016-2017 school year. No player born prior to August 1, 2004, will be a member of a U12 team. Proof of age may be required. To be eligible to play in the Okoboji Tournament, each player must have been registered on the team they will play for at Okoboji for Fall 2016 or Spring 2017 season. U14 will play 11 v 11; U12 will play 9 v 9. The maximum number of players on each team will be 22. The three-player transfer rule will not apply to this tournament. Players on a team must be from the same club and must be registered for their own league and play on teams sponsored by such club. No player may play for more than one team in this tournament. Except as otherwise stated herein, the FIFA soccer rules, as modified by the USYSA for U14 and U12 players, will apply to the tournament. Teams will be composed solely of girls or solely of boys. No girl may play on a boys’ team and no boy may play on a girls’ team.
The registration fee will be $45.00 per player. Each player and head coach will receive a program, a souvenir T-shirt, and a gift. Awards will be given to the two final teams immediately following their final game.
The opening ceremonies for the tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. on June 10th. All players must be present at these ceremonies. The first games of the tournament will follow the opening ceremonies on the 10th and the final games will be completed by approximately 6:00 p.m. on the 11th. A schedule of the individual games will be provided at a later date.
We will have a pool play format. Each team will play two games on Saturday and at least one game on Sunday. Teams playing in a championship game will play a total of 4 games. Seeding for Sunday will be determined Saturday night and communicated to coaches as soon as possible.
Each team must have alternate player uniforms available. Cover-ups/pennies are acceptable. Also, each U14 team may be asked to provide an announcer for games played by their team on field #1.

If you are interested in entering the tournament, the following is required for the online registration:
- Age Group & Gender (U12 Girls, U12 Boys, U14 Girls or U14 Boys)
- Coach/Asst. Coach Information, including: Name, email address and phone numbers (home and cell), T-Shirt size
- Player Information, including: Name, Jersey #, Date of Birth, Age, School Grade and T-Shirt size (Adult sizes only)
- Team Announcer (U14 only)
Registrations are due by April 15th. The team contact will receive an email noting the team was added for consideration with a team ID. If your team receives an invitation, the team contact will receive an approval email with a link to the website, which will have a link to PayPal for payment. Payment is due by May 1st and is required to finalize the registration.

One payment transaction per team registration. Payment will be accepted by debit or credit card via PayPal. A PayPal account is not required.
Please note that due to the popularity and overwhelming interest in this tournament, the organizers and directors reserve the right to limit the number of teams. If you are no longer in charge of your club or team, please forward this information to the appropriate person as soon as possible.
