 Theatres
and nightlife in the Okoboji area offers something
for everyone. From broadway hits to childrens
theatre, Okoboji has something to offer for theatre
fans of all ages. Live entertainment, DJs and
local personalities in the area pubs and coffeehouses
also add to the festive lakes area night scene.
Throughout the year, entertaining bands, comedians,
dances, concerts and shows add to the Lakes Area’s
exciting nightlife.

 Okoboji
Summer Theatre & Boji Bantam
Children’s Theatre
Every summer, audiences look forward to the debut of the Okoboji
Summer Theatre. For well over 40 years, students and faculty
from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, have been managing,
producing and starring in the theater’s productions. Nine
shows run throughout the all-too-short season, and include
Broadway hits, thought-provoking dramas, entertaining musicals
and lively comedies. Theatergoers should call in advance for
tickets, as productions tend to sell out quickly. This year's
plays are listed on page 62. This talented troupe also puts
on special summer productions for children in the Boji Bantam
Children’s Theatre. Please call the ticket office at (712)

Lakes
Area Community Theatre
Summer isn’t the only season for fans of the theater to
enjoy great performances. The Lakes Area Community Theatre,
composed of talented community members, entertains audiences
throughout the year.

Funny
Barn Comedy Club
Make your Okoboji visit full of laughter by planning an evening
at the Funny Barn Comedy Club, on Hill Avenue in Spirit Lake.
They book a constant stream of the nation’s top comics
for their Friday and Saturday performances. Call (712) 336-4888
for times, performances and reservations, or for booking birthdays,
weddings or other special parties. Don't forget to watch your
favorite sporting events on their big screen TV.

Treasure
Village
For
over 30 years, Treasure Village has provided family
fun entertainment in the Lakes Area. The Children's
Theatre will present live plays on stage for all ages.
After the morning show you can play mini-golf on a
27-hole course and enjoy an old-fashioned hand-dipped
ice cream cone. Come listen to a wide variety of music
at gospel concerts on Sunday evenings, or find hidden
treasures at antique flea markets held on the 3 holiday
weekends during the summer.
Treasure Village Children's Theatre will present classic
fairy tales such as Snow White, Wizard of Oz, Aladdin,
or Jungle Book. The audience participation plays are
performed by young adult actors on Tuesday through
Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. from mid-June through
mid-August.
Gospel concerts are held at 8 p.m. on Sundays from
mid-June through Labor Day weekend. For more information,
